Training their sights on birdland , the Nutty Squirrels come up with a lively collection of tunes that bring humor back to jazz. Sascha Burland and Don Elliott, creators of the swinging animals, have long been concerned about the heavy, serious approach what is essentially happy music, and have put the Squirrels to work bringing a cheery note back into popular music.

The Squirrels are as irrepressible and inventive as ever in this collection, swinging through the tunes with authority and enjoyment. When they burst on the recording scene with their best-seller Uh-Oh, the Squirrels established themselves as prime entertainers whose gifts were not limited to the. woodland, and they have become famous throughout the world; South America knows them as "Las Ardillitas Locas." Don Elliott, one of America's most gifted and busiest jazz musician's wrote and performed the music for Broadway's long-running revue, A Thurber Carnival. Winner of the Down Beat award for six consecutive ears, Don mixes his career in jazz with a successful side line of composing commercials for radio and television. Sascha-Granville Alexander Burland - is an alumnus of Yale's Whiffenpoofs and various advertising agencies. He has created singing commercials for Climax, Shower of Stars, the Sinatra shows and the theme music for What's My Line? Disguised as The Nutty Squirrels, Don and Sascha combine their wit and showmanship with a solid jazz impulse. This collection of fine-feathered tunes provides them with a lively opportunity to blend humor with jazz and they -and the Squirrels-make the most of it.
